3 Powerful Ways To Recognize an Opportunity

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur one of the things that you’re going to have to do is be able to recognize opportunity when it knocks. An opportunity to fill a much needed gap in the market or to change your business to take advantage of a trend could mean the difference between a little bit of success and a huge amount. But you must know what these opportunities look like so that you can grab them when you see them. Here are three ways to recognize an opportunity.

It Might Not Be Perfect

One of the earmarks of a good opportunity is that it doesn’t sound too good to be true. A true opportunity that has great potential isn’t going to be perfect when you encounter it. Youíre going to have to do the work to make it into a successful venture. However, one thing that it should have is potential. If you can see it becoming a great idea in the future than it might just be the opportunity that you been looking for but just be sure that just because an idea is imperfect that you don’t discard it completely.

It Is Built on Previous Failures

The best ideas are the ones that have evolved over time because they have been honed through past failures. If an idea has been through the furnace of discovery, there is a much greater chance of it working when you decide to implement it. In other words, you might want to give an idea time to fail a few times before you decide to run with it yourself, because otherwise, you’ll be making all of those mistakes yourself and that won’t result in the grand opportunity the you’re envisioning.

It Might Not Be What It Was Intended to Be Used for Originally

Some of the best ideas that have ever been thought of were completely different takes on what a product or service was originally intended for. The idea might’ve been a failure as it was intended but it sparked an entirely new thought process and brand-new applications. These accidental inventions ended up being something completely different because someone had the ability to see past the original application. For example, both the slinky and silly putty toys were intended for industrial application. However, they failed as intended and instead became some of the most popular toys ever invented.

FB Ads Case Study

I ran a quick FB Ad Campaign marketing my Foundations Workshop and Training Seminar at my gym.

FBadScreencapFoundations

It’s interesting to see some of the demographics. My initial broad parameters where delivering to zip codes in proximity to my gym. I targeted both men and women age 18-55, then quickly narrowed that down to 25-44 after seeing initial results after 1 day.

Most of my audience was from that sweet spot, which is why I narrowed it down.

I ran my ad for 3 days, with a $7/day cap. Simple and doesn’t break the bank. Easily scalable if needed.

I signed up 1 new member at the seminar that day. $249. I spent $21.56.

In addition, I also got 11 likes to our page during that span of 3 days.

Now, it’s interesting how different images for your ads have better response.

Here were my click through rates (CTR) for my ads:

My headline was – “2.5 Hour Fitness Workshop & Training Seminar Tells All!”

1. A woman holding a barbell in the racked position (1.76% CTR)
2. A woman doing a kettlebell swing (1.72% CTR)
3. Image that said “Get Fit” with no person (1.52% CTR)
4. A woman who looks like a runner, just stretching (.5% CTR)

The images I used were just from stock photos that I chose. On this particular campaign, I did not use my own images. I’ve reached up to 3% CTR on other campaigns.

There are so many variables to play around with FB Ads that you need to test and track, always. You can see right away if an ad is working or not. And that’s the beauty of FB.

These FB variables don’t even consider the page that they actually land on. I could have sent them directly to a squeeze page, but decided to send them right to the info on our gym’s website.

This quick campaign turned out a positive ROI.

$249 Revenue
$21.56 Spend
= $227.44 Net

For a quick FB campaign with minimal spend, I was pleased with the result.

I’m not going to go into the details of ALL the variables that went into this, but instead wanted to give you a brief snapshot of a simple FB ad campaign, especially if you’ve never done one.

I’ll get more in depth in a future case study for you.

But for now, go ahead and test some campaigns. You don’t have to break the bank to learn and make money. Be smart. Test and track.

Opportunity To Make Extra Money Every Day

Do you have the opportunity to make extra money every day? I’m talking about outside of your main gym or personal client training business income?

I’ll tell you… it’s nice. It’s great to just have that opportunity, since so many others who hold regular wage or salaried jobs don’t.

So, what allows me to have that opportunity to make extra money every day?

It’s my email lists.

I make money nearly every time I send an email with an offer. I’m not talking big time windfall type money, but it’s money. My bread and butter is my gym business, but shooting off emails and getting paid anywhere from $10-$100 each time I send an email to one of my lists is just simply awesome.

I’m currently far from emailing my lists daily, but I am ramping it up. The more I email, the more I make.

So, if you need some guidance in this area of building up your list and connecting with your subscribers, check this out now…
